Alliant Energy processes approximately 4,000 interconnection applications annually across Iowa and Wisconsin. As program requirements evolved and application volumes grew, the utility identified an opportunity to streamline its interconnection process, improve consistency, and increase operational efficiency.
Working with Clean Power Research®, Alliant Energy modernized its PowerClerk® workflow while maintaining continuity for more than 1,000 active applications already in progress. The effort delivered significant improvements in process efficiency, stakeholder experience, and scalability.
The results included a 37% reduction in review cycle times, a 68% reduction in end-to-end cycle times for sub-20 kW projects, and a streamlined approval process with fewer review steps.
