On behalf of the entire Clean Power Research team, I want to wish our utility, energy agency and solar industry customers a Happy New Year—and thank you for making 2025 a great year!
If 2025 had a theme, it would be “change.” Change is nothing new in the energy industry—the term “solar-coaster” exists for a reason. The industry has many challenges, including adapting to regulatory and policy swings, the surge of data centers supporting artificial intelligence and interconnecting these new electrical loads into an aging grid. Yet, if our customers are any indication, the industry’s resilience remains strong, and I’m confident it will continue to thrive. The ride may stay bumpy, but the future looks bright.
For Clean Power Research®, 2025 was a tremendous success. We delivered significant product innovations, created measurable customer impact and strengthened our role as an industry leader. Our commitment to advancing a clean-powered planet has never been clearer.
Utility and energy agency solutions
In my mid-year review, I shared milestones such as:
- PowerClerk® surpassing 3 million interconnection applications
- Launching AI-assisted workflow automation in PowerClerk
- Introducing FleetView® for behind-the-meter DER insights to improve grid planning
- Delivering automation and efficiency for service request workflows, as highlighted in our PNM case study
Since then, we’ve continued to add new customers and expand our technical integration partnerships.
I’m pleased to share that more electric utilities adopted Clean Power Research products in 2025, including several new investor-owned, co-op and municipal electric utilities. We now count more than 85 utilities in the U.S., Canada and Central America as customers. Moving into the New Year, our customers should expect to see more case studies reflecting how our products and services deliver positive ROI resulting from workflow efficiencies and deeper stakeholder satisfaction. In fact, our latest webinar demonstrates how Arizona Public Services (APS) used PowerClerk to modernize and streamline large load requests by reducing timelines, increasing transparency and aligning internal stakeholders from application intake through energization.
On the subject of partnerships, we’re making PowerClerk and FleetView® even easier to integrate with platforms like DERMS, Demand Response Management Systems (DRMS) and VPPs. Our partnerships with MEPPI Smarter Grid Solutions, ScottMadden, envelio and GE Vernova are just the beginning—more announcements are coming in early 2026 prior to DISTRIBUTECH. Learn more about our approach to solving many utility process and workflow challenges with partners in this blog: “How PowerClerk partner integrations enable utilities to say yes to more load.”
Solar industry solutions
Specific to the SolarAnywhere® business, 2025 reflected major advances in our solar irradiance data offerings for the siting, development and operation of solar plants. Not only did we expand our data offerings and global coverage (now up to +/- 80° latitude) to enable deeper, more reliable data insights, we also focused on improving usability for both solar developers and operators. Some highlights include:
- Enhanced precision across our data products—including 1-minute Typical Year data to unlock accurate clipping loss analysis and 5-minute real-time data to more precisely capture solar resource variability.
- Improved ability to quickly assess extreme weather risks with new Map Overlays
- Quick, no-code visualization of operational datasets—including real-time and forecast data—plus a new monitoring API to scale performance benchmarking
- New Probabilistic Forecasting to better manage financial risk
- Expanded access to SolarAnywhere data through seamless integrations with popular PV design and monitoring platforms
Moving into the New Year, our solar customers can look forward to expanded offerings around climate risk assessment, as well as data fidelity, validation and ease of access—all designed to maximize ROI at every stage of the solar lifecycle.
Looking ahead to 2026
I’m excited about the opportunities presented by today’s dynamic energy industry and the role Clean Power Research will play. We’ll continue to drive toward a clean-powered planet through innovation, customer success and technical partnerships.
