WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AS A SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – EUROPE

Clean Power Research seeks a highly motivated, self-driven Sales and Business Development Manager to explore and develop new regional opportunities for the company with an initial focus on expanding our SolarAnywhere® software-as-a-service business in the EMEA region.

The Sales and Business Development Manager will grow and expand our regional business by building relationships with new and existing customers, partners, and influencers, nurturing leads, and closing business. The Sales and Business Development Manager will also actively identify, engage, and onboard potential partners that will help drive our regional opportunities.

On a day-to-day basis, the person in this role will track regional solar and renewable energy trends, understand the competition, attend and present at key conferences and events and meet with customers, partners, and influencers. A person in this position will also identify, track, and influence regional market and regulatory trends that impact our offerings and positioning.

While this is initially an individual contributor role, over time this person will have the opportunity to recruit and lead a regional sales, business development, and support team.

Travel requirement: 25%. This is a remote position for an individual in Europe or in the Eastern or Atlantic time zones of the USA or Canada.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be an expert on the solar markets in the EMEA region
  • Clearly position SolarAnywhere product features and benefits
  • Analyze and share regional market data on customers, competitors, pricing, regulation, opportunities, channels and partners
  • Use this data to influence product, engineering, and marketing decisions
  • Develop executive relationships with key customers, partners, and influencers
  • Become a valued and respected thought-leader for Clean Power Research through participation and leadership at regional events and forums
  • Identify, engage, and onboard regional channel, software, marketing and implementation partners
  • Directly nurture, negotiate and close new business deals

WHO YOU ARE

  • Located in Europe or the Eastern or Atlantic time zones of the USA or Canada; if USA candidate, preference is for NY or MA location
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree; Masters or advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years in sales, business development or related role
  • Experience with complex negotiations and contracts, including internationally
  • Passion for solar energy and renewables essential
  • Domain expertise in solar project development and management
  • Familiarity with renewable energy markets, utility business processes, systems, and regulatory issues
  • Familiarity with SolarAnywhere and competitive products
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with additional proficiency in Spanish, German or French strongly preferred
